so simple's spectacular spectacular party was amazing. fucking epic shit. ted nava, wet mango, wmx (me), we are the world, all leather, sonic death rabbit, baseck, venetian snares, and otto von schirach all killed it. however, i fucking hate rockstar bullshit and learned some important lyf lessons. here is a clip from the show.
on another note, while the crowd had fun and the energy was great, i am fucking pissed and in a really dark mood. i've been listening to this moon album on repeat and its fucking sick. this song is my favorite right now.
dark as fuck. killkillkillhatehatehate FUCK PEOPLE
i've been reading a lot about demons and demonolatry. STOLAS wins the cute demon award for me (just after beelzebub)
checked out mustache mondays at la cita in downtown la last night - that shit was chilllll. that night has great energy- everyone was dancing, people were very sociable, and only one person stepped on my kicks. the music was slightly above average club fare, but it kept the party rockin and the people dancin so i can't complain.
i did go a little overboard with the whiskey
my film/music recommendation today reflects that.
youth brigade is the shit. if you haven't seen the film, "another state of mind," i highly recommend it. it is a fucking rad documentary about the better youth organization's epic failure of a tour. it includes footage of the punk scene that ruled chinatown in the 80's, including lots of social distortion and youth brigade footie. sick flick yo.
mike ness applying eyeliner, sweaty dudes in the back of a van, lots of moshpits and a variety of punk babes.
this film made me love youth brigade. they've put out such classics as "sink with kalifornia" and "fight to unite," which was one of the first songs i learned how to play on the guitar.
youth brigade is a shreddy blend of skate punk with lots of chants to bro down on.
i feel like i should make the obligatory "first blog" post
this is my first blog post.
in the future, there will be: dark art, brutal tracks, lots of show flyers, vegan restaurant reviews (mostly in los angeles), film reviews/recommendations, and reviews and reports on the music scene in los angeles from the eyes of wmx, focusing on breakcore but not exclusively
and now, black metal for breakfast. besatt - demonicon fucking shreds.
sounds like black metal viking pirates charging into the depths of hell to meet the fallen lord
